Display Tips

The Volusia County Map Applications are best viewed with Internet Explorer and the Screen Display set to 1024x768 pixels and the colors set to True Color (32 Bit).

Setting the Screen Display

To set the Screen Display to 1024x768 pixels for Windows, open your PCs "Control Panel" as shown in Figure 1.

Next, double-click the "Display" icon shown in Figure 2.

Next, click on the "Settings" tab shown in Figure 3.
NOTE: Before making any changes, note your current settings in case you need to return to them.
Next, set the "Screen area" to 1024x768 as shown in Figure 3. If you have the option to set your colors to "True Color (32 bit)", it is recommended to do so. This will make the map colors look better within your browser.

Next, click on the "Advanced" tab and under the "General" tab set the Font Size to "Small Fonts" as shown below. Click "OK" to close the window. Click "OK" again to close the "Display Properties" window.

Next adjust your Text Size for your browser:
In Internet Exporer go to the "View" menu and select the "Text Size" option. Medium is recommended.

In Netscape go to the "View" menu and select the "Text Size" option. Original or 100% is recommended.

NOTE: To get back to your original settings, just follow this same procedure and reset the Display Properties back to your previous settings.
